This THP is a couple miles west of the town of Leggett and Highway 101; and very close to Highway 1, and Standish Hickey State Recreation Area. There is a 39 acre Special Treatment Area (STA) planned adjacent to Standish Hickey State Recreation Area that will involve a lighter cut to mitigate the visual impacts. Both tractor and cable logging are proposed with some logging on very steep slopes, and on steep roads. Most of the watershed drains into the South Fork of the Eel River which is listed as “water quality limited” for sediment and temperature. More information is available on the THP Tracking Center website.Tweet
