This THP is about 6 miles SE of Mc Cloud, CA and adjacent to the northern shore of Lake Mc Cloud.  Lake McCloud is a popular fishing and boating area, and contains resident bald eagles and osprey. Hearst Corporation is planning a tractor and cable logging operation in mixed conifer forests.  There are 9 landslide terrain sites including debris slides and road failure sites.  Three new segments of roads are proposed for construction on slopes over 65%.  Although the THP is 100% selection logging, it includes cutting in 6 late seral management areas which contain large old trees. More information is available on the THP Tracking Center website.
