This THP is about 4 miles SW of Callahan, CA at Sugar Creek which flows into the Scott River which is listed as impaired for sediment/temperature and is an important steelhead and coho fishery.  Timbervest Partners LLC is planning a tractor based logging operation on erosive granitic soils in Douglas fir, ponderosa pine, incense cedar and sugar pine forests.  Existing tractor roads and landings are proposed for use in class II watercourses, and equipment is proposed for use on short segments of slopes over 65%.  There are 26 road drainage sites planned for work including rocking, dip construction, ditch cleaning and culvert repair/replacement.  Section 21 is adjacent to the Russian roadless area and close to the Russian wilderness area, a popular hiking and backpacking destination. More information is available on the THP Tracking Center website.
