This THP is about a dozen miles east of Trinidad, CA and about a dozen miles NE of Arcata, CA. Green Diamond Resource Company is planning a mostly clearcut feller buncher, cable and shovel logging operation in Douglas fir, redwood and western hemlock forests. The THP area flows into Redwood Creek which is impaired for sediment and temperature and contains coho, steelhead and chinook salmon. Units A, C and D are underlain by dormant rockslides and/or earthflows, and unit F has a historic debris slide. 5 road drainage sites are planned for work including rocking, dip construction, culvert repair/replacement and restoration of washed out crossings. Running pine was found along the southern boundary of unit C, and inside unit F. There is a spotted owl nesting territory within .25 mi of unit B. More information is available on the THP Tracking Center website.
