This THP is 11.5 mi NW of Willits, CA and Highway 101 at an elevation of 680 to 2,240 feet. Mendocino Redwood Company is planning a tractor and cable logging operation in redwood and Douglas fir forests. The THP area drains into the Noyo River which is listed as an impaired watershed for sediment and temperature. Mendocino Redwood Company is planning to use tractors on steep slopes up to 65% grade inside areas designated for cable logging operations, and use tractors on steep slopes over 50% grade with a high erosion hazard rating. They also want to re-const 350 feet of an existing road across an unstable area. There are 17 road drainage sites planned for work including rocking, dip construction, culvert repair/replacement and re-construction of washed out crossings. Humboldt milk vetch was found along a road in section 16, Redwood lily was found along roads in sections 16 and 21, and Long beard lichen was found in section 21.
