This THP is about 18 miles NE of Oroville, CA and about 18 miles SW of Quincy, CA at an elevation of 3,840 to 5,080 feet. Sierra Pacific Industries is planning a tractor based logging operation in white fir, sugar pine, ponderosa pine, Douglas fir and incense cedar forests. The use of existing watercourse crossings is planned inside class I (year round) and class II (mid sized) watercourses. 14 road drainage sites are planned for work including rocking, dip construction and culvert repair/replacement. There is a red tailed hawk nest within .25 mi of the THP area in section 11, and a pacific marten was reported within 1 mi of the THP area in section 28. Giant checker bloom was found in sections 3, 4, 10, 13, 15, 33, 51 (within/near units 4, 5, 6, 17, 20), Clifton’s eremogone was found in sections 2 and 33, Mildred’s clarkia was found in sections 10 and 14 (within units 7, 9, 11), and Mosquin’s clarkia was found in sections 3, 4, 15, 33 (near/within units 1, 5, 7, 8, 17, 22).
