This THP is about 4.5 miles east of Quincy, CA and about a mile NE of Highway 70 at an elevation of 4,360 to 6,280 feet. Sierra Pacific Industries is planning a tractor based logging operation on steep and unstable slopes in Jeffrey pine, ponderosa pine, sugar pine, white fir, incense cedar and Douglas fir forests. There are 3 landslide terrain sites adjacent to the THP area including; an unstable area below a road near unit 2, and 2 unstable areas just north of unit 6. Sierra Pacific Industries is planning to use roads and landings during the winter period, and construction is proposed with grades exceeding 15% for several road segments. 43 road drainage sites are planned for work including rocking, dip construction, ditch cleaning and culvert repair/replacement. In 2004, a Sierra Nevada yellow legged frog was reported .98 miles from the nearest THP unit in section 08. Quincy lupine was reported within and adjacent to the THP area.
