This THP is about 9 miles SE of Fort Jones, CA, and about 13 miles SW of Yreka, CA and Highway 5 at an elevation of 3,500 to 6,000 feet.  Fruit Growers Supply Company is planning a individual tree selection and clearcut tractor and cable logging operation on steep and unstable slopes in ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, sugar pine, white fir, incense cedar and knob cone pine forests (22 acres of knob cone pine removal is proposed). The THP area flows into the Scott River watershed which is listed as an impaired watershed for sediment/siltation and temperature. There is an unstable area in Section 4, and multiple locations where a class II (mid sized) watercourse area is cutting into road 3530 fill slope inside section 1. Fruit Growers Supply Company is planning to use ground based equipment on steep slopes over 65% at 2 locations, and construct and use crossings, roads and landings during the winter period.  They also are planning to construct and re-construction 6 segments of roads inside class III (intermittent) watercourse areas, and construct a landing inside a class III (intermittent) watercourse area.  71 road drainage sites are planned for work including rocking, dip construction, ditch cleaning and culvert repair/replacement.  There is a northern goshawk territory at nearby Duzel Rock, and prairie falcons were reported at Duzel Rock and Gazalle Mountain.  There are 6 historic spotted owl territories within 1.3 miles of the THP area (SIS0392, SIS0571, SIS0543, SIS0397, SIS0396, SIS0569), although none were reported to be active. Siskiyou mariposa lily was found on a non timbered slope outside of THP units.
