This THP is about 5 miles NW of Weitchpec, CA, 2 miles east of the Lower Klamath River and about 12 miles SE of  Orick, CA at an elevation of 1,700 to 2,700 feet.  Green Diamond Resource Company is planning a mostly commercial thinning tractor based logging operation on steep and unstable slopes (road related shallow rapid landslide terrain site in unit F) in Douglas fir forests. The THP area flows into the Lower Klamath River which is listed as an impaired watershed for sediment, temperature, dissolved oxygen and nutrients. Seven road drainage sites are planned for work including rocking, dip construction, ditch cleaning, culvert repair/replacement and restoration of washed out crossings. 6,000 feet of season roads are proposed for construction, and 500 feet of seasonal roads are proposed for re-construction. The THP area is located inside a Marten Special Management Area (MSMA) where marten have been detected in the past, but not during recent survey efforts. Bald mountain milk vetch and pacific gilia were reported in close proximity to the THP area. There are spotted owl nesting territories within .5 miles of unit B.
